Meet our Speech-Language Pathologists

Caroline Waldschmidt, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner & Speech-Language Pathologist

“I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and studied at Penn State University for both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. I began my career in a level 1 trauma hospital in Pittsburgh, serving adults who acquired communication and swallowing disorders.

I then decided to move to Scottsdale, Arizona where not only did I grow more of a passion for my career, but also a love for being active outside and exploring our beautiful state. I was employed at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital for several years and grew my clinical skills in treating patients for longer durations. Seeing their improvements was extremely motivating as a speech therapist!

I now strive to bring my clinical skills and knowledge to the outpatient setting in order to fill a major gap that I saw as missing from our community. I want to share a service that specifically works with adults suffering from communication and/or swallowing difficulty and cater the therapy to the needs of my patients and their families.”

Christine Delfino, M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist

“Originally from New York, I received my master's degree from Arizona State University in 2015. I launched my career in Phoenix, working at a large hospital with adults who had acquired swallowing, cognitive and communication disorders due to a variety of medical and neurologic injuries. Wanting to be closer to my family back east, I found my way to Pittsburgh, where I spent the next 4 years working in another large medical center, with adult and geriatric patients both in the acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings.

For the last three years, I have worked in the outpatient treating patients with voice and swallowing disorders, as well as with patients with ALS and Parkinson's Disease. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with other medical professionals to provide my clients the most thorough work-up and supportive treatment plan possible.

My passions for understanding how systems work and evidence-based care drove me to pursue a master's in public health in epidemiology. These same passions drive my work in telepractice, which is a wonderful tool for reaching clients who may live in remote areas or who need special scheduling considerations to fit therapy into their busy lives. I am passionate about connecting with clients and their families to help them identify and reach their goals. ”

Mikayla Szabo, M.S., CF-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist - Clinical Fellow

“I was raised in a little town called Green Valley, just south of Tucson, Arizona. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Arizona State University—GO DEVS!

Throughout my experiences, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of populations, with adults who have Parkinson’s disease and aphasia being among my primary areas of interest. These opportunities have opened my eyes to the incredible versatility and impact speech-language pathology has on the world around me. I was originally drawn to this field because of its unique ability to support people across the lifespan. I’m excited to continue learning, adapting, and growing during my Clinical Fellowship year, and to further expand my passions within adult speech-language pathology.

Outside of work, I find joy in traveling, staying active, playing percussive instruments, and dancing. As I look ahead in my career, I’m excited to keep finding ways to help others communicate and connect in their everyday lives.”
